What is a plastic surgeon?

The word plastic comes from the Greek word ‘plastikos’, which means to mould or give form. Plastic surgery enables us to mould or re-form the human body. A Canadian plastic surgeon is a well-trained, qualified specialist who has passed the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons examinations and is certified to practice Plastic Surgery.

How do I choose my plastic surgeon?

There is no foolproof way to choose a plastic surgeon or to guarantee your results. Focus on choosing a plastic surgeon that is fully qualified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons as a Plastic Surgeon. Comfort is key. Make sure you feel comfortable with the surgeon and that he/she provides you with information about expected outcomes, potential risks or complications and how these may be handled. View the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons webpage for more tips on this topic.

Where are procedures performed?

Consultations and non-surgical procedures at Oakville Plastic Surgery and Advanced Skincare are performed in our office. Surgery is performed at the Oakville Hospital or the Georgetown Hospital.

How do I prepare for surgery?

Dr. de Kleer and her staff will discuss pre-operative preparation in detail at your consultation. Smoking cessation for six weeks prior to surgery is paramount to optimize healing and scar formation. Being at your ideal body weight, physically fit and eating a nutritious diet also promotes a speedy recovery. Avoid homeopathic remedies, vitamin E, anti-inflammatory medications and garlic for one month prior to surgery.

Is there a consultation fee?

For surgical procedures there is a $100 consultation fee. This fee can be applied towards the cost of your chosen surgery. There is no cost for skincare, neuromodulator, filler or other non-surgical consultations.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, Interac debit cards and certified cheques. Financing may be arranged through Credit Medical or Medicard. Payment for surgical procedures is required six weeks prior to surgery.
