What is a plastic surgeon?

The word plastic comes from the Greek word plastikos, which means to mould or give form. Plastic surgery enables us to mould or re-form the human body. A Canadian plastic surgeon is a well-trained, qualified specialist who has passed the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons examinations and is certified to practice Plastic Surgery. www.royalcollege.ca

How do I choose my plastic surgeon?
There is no foolproof way to choose a plastic surgeon or to guarantee your results. Focus on choosing a plastic surgeon that is fully qualified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons as a Plastic Surgeon.  Be sure you feel comfortable with the surgeon and that your surgeon provides you with information about expected outcomes, potential risks or complications and how these may be handled.

View the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons webpage for more tips on this topic. www.plasticsurgery.ca
