Breast lift “Lift and tighten”
Breast lift surgery, also known as mastopexy, removes excess breast skin to raise, reshape and firm the breasts.
When is it used?
This procedure is ideal for women who feel that their breasts are droopy. Various factors, as simple as how your breasts developed, pregnancy, breast-feeding and gravity can affect how perky your breasts are. Over time, as we age, the loss of elasticity within the skin can cause the breasts to lose their shape and firmness and begin to sag.
What happens during the procedure?
Excess skin on the breast is removed and the nipple-areolar complex is moved to a higher, more natural position. Stitches are placed under the skin. Incisions are either around the nipple-areolar complex, vertically along the mid breast or occasionally also along the lower fold of the breast.
What are the risks and potential complications?
Risks of this procedure include wide or visible scars, bleeding and infection, and loss of feeling in nipples and breasts which is normally temporary.
What do I expect after the treatment?
Some post surgical swelling and moderate to minimal discomfort along with lifted more shapely breasts.
