Brow lift “Brighten your expression”
A brow lift, also called a forehead lift, is a procedure that corrects drooping or sagging eyebrows and improves the horizontal wrinkles and frown lines that can make a person appear angry, sad or tired.
When is it used?
Brow lift or forehead lift may completely refresh the upper face. A worried or tired look results from a brow that lies low and heavy on the forehead. Sometimes, people may focus their attention on excess skin in the upper eyelids and not realize that it is their sagging eyebrows that are the cause of the problem.
What happens during the procedure?
During a brow lift, Dr. de Kleer treats the tissues that are causing drooping or deep furrows. The eyebrows are raised and the forehead smoothed. The incisions are normally hidden in the hair and the lift is achieved by either tightening or removing loose tissues. The specific technique used is determined preoperatively, and is based on your brow position, the level of drooping and degree of wrinkling and brow configuration.
This procedure is often combined with other operations such as blepharoplasty and/or facelifts to harmoniously improve the look of the eyes and other areas of the face.
What are the risks and potential complications?
Complications can include bleeding, infection and temporary numbness. Hair loss can occur along scar edges.
What do I expect after surgery?
Swelling and bruising should be gone within two weeks at which point you should be enjoying a natural looking more refreshed you.
