Laser Facial Treatment

When it comes to Laser Facial Treatment, at Oakville Plastic Surgery we use a non-invasive (non-ablative) approach, which is non-wounding, to treat our patients. This treatment is meant to tighten any saggy loose skin as well as reduce facial wrinkles and skin irregularities such as blemishes, acne scars, beard bumps, stretch marks, uneven skin tone or texture, sunspots/damage, and signs of aging. Ultimately, this is a fast, painless procedure that will rejuvenate your complexion to have you looking and feeling young and healthy. This is definitely the safest procedure for laser facial treatment, making it the preferred method for fighting skin damage.

Treatment

The laser used in the facial treatment is very effective and comfortable for patients. It generates heat that reaches the deep portions of the skin but does not damage or wound the surface of the skin. The laser works to tighten the skin and uses the heat to eliminate damage caused by the sun, acne, and other scars, skin irregularities, and discolourations. Depending on the damage targeted, seeing results can take anywhere from 1-5 sessions. Our specialist will be sure to offer you a unique solution for your specific facial structure and skin complexion.

How It Works

Using targeted 1064 nm laser energy, this technology targets and treats a variety of skin concerns. Safe for all skin types (1-6), the Nd:YAG laser can treat uneven skin tone, pigmented lesions, age and sun spots, port wine stains and beard bumps (PFB). This laser is safe, non-invasive and non-ablative. The treatment usually takes 15-45 minutes depending on the area(s) to be treated and how much damage is present. The results are consistent, almost always leading to a visibly tighter, smoother, clearer, younger, and healthier looking skin.

Recovery

The targeted cells, which are destroyed by the laser beam are pushed up to the skin’s surface and shed away during the healing process. Some scabbing, flaking, oozing or scaling may occur which will resolve over a period of 7 to 10 days. Recovery will vary depending on the depth of the treatment, however, most patients will experience no down time and will be able to return to work immediately.
