Body Lift

A body lift refers to a combination of surgical procedures to tighten and lift areas of loose skin and fat. Common treatment areas include the breasts (mastopexy or breast lift), stomach (abdominoplasty), upper arms (brachioplasty), back, thighs and buttocks. The accomplishment of weight loss can be dampened when loose skin serves as a reminder of one’s previous body image. For those who have lost large amounts of weight, body lifting addresses these aesthetic concerns for firmer skin and a refined body shape.

Treatment

Oakville Plastic Surgery is committed to providing the highest level of care and safety to its patients. Plastic surgeon Dr. Nancy de Kleer will thoroughly assess your condition and conduct a general health assessment to determine treatment candidacy. Surgical procedures are performed in a fully accredited surgical facility. The administration of a general anaesthetic will be discussed and explained prior to your procedure. Our team of highly skilled professionals takes every measure to ensure you’re fully informed and prepared for both pre- and post-surgical care.

How It Works

The placement of surgical incisions will depend on the areas being treated. Every effort is made to minimize the visibility of surgical scars. Once the incision is made, excess skin and fat have been removed, muscle and skin tissue is rearranged, tightened and redraped for a lifted and flattering result.

Recovery

The recovery time for a body lift will vary from 10-14 days to 6 weeks depending on the extent of the procedure. Dr. de Kleer will fully instruct you on the after-care for your surgical incisions. Follow up visits to remove stitches and monitor your healing will be established to ensure optimal recovery.
