Arm Lift (Brachioplasty)

A brachioplasty, or arm lift, procedure refines, contours and tightens the arms. Many patients opt for this procedure when the skin on the arms becomes loose or when excess fat accumulates, causing bulges and uneven contours. A brachioplasty procedure can provide a sleek and toned look to the upper arms for an improved body image.

Treatment

Oakville Plastic Surgery is committed to providing the highest level of care and safety to its patients. Plastic surgeon Dr. Nancy de Kleer will thoroughly assess your condition and conduct a general health assessment to determine treatment candidacy. Surgical procedures are performed in a fully accredited surgical facility. The administration of a general anaesthetic will be discussed and explained prior to your procedure. Our team of highly skilled professionals takes every measure to ensure you’re fully informed and prepared for both pre- and post-surgical care.

How It Works

An incision is usually made from the elbow to the armpit under the inner arm to minimize the visibility of the surgical scar. Excess fat is removed and loose skin is removed, tightened and redraped to achieve a flattering outcome. The skin is carefully sewn closed using techniques to minimize scarring.

Recovery

The arms will be swollen for 10 to 14 days after surgery. Supportive wraps will need to be worn for up to six weeks to aid in the healing process. Dr. de Kleer will thoroughly explain your post-surgery care to ensure optimal recovery. It can take up to a year for the surgical site to heal completely.
