Face Lift

Modern facelift surgery techniques have evolved to produce subtle and natural-looking outcomes. With fewer and smaller incisions and a sophisticated approach to facial symmetry, facelifts are an attractive option for those seeking a rejuvenated look that cannot be achieved by non-surgical treatments. Facelifts commonly address the deep folds that develop along the chin and jaw line and excess skin and fat on the neck. Facelift surgery smoothes loose skin, tightens the deeper tissues, refines contours either through the removal of excess fat or fat grafting to add volume where needed, giving your face a toned and more youthful appearance. It can be performed alone or in conjunction with an eye and/or brow lift. There is no right age for a facelift; rather there are specific goals for different age groups and for each face.

How It Works

Facelift surgery is an intricate procedure that involves several techniques. Discreet incisions are made at the temple and around the ear to minimize visible scarring. Excess skin is trimmed and fat, tendon and muscle tissues may be removed or repositioned in order to yield a natural and harmonious outcome. This results in a ‘lifted’ and refreshed appearance. Dr. Nancy de Kleer and her team utilize the latest approaches and surgical techniques to achieve the best possible outcome for your facelift procedure.

Recovery

For the first 24-48 hours post-treatment, patients are advised to have someone available to assist them as needed. Redness, swelling and bruising can occur around the surgical site(s), which can last for several days. Supportive garments, ice packs and pain medication will help to relieve discomfort and support healing. There will be small surgical scars after a facelift procedure, but every measure is taken to minimize their visibility. Scars generally fade after several months. Dr. de Kleer will help you establish reasonable timelines and expectations for recovery. Regular work and social activities can be resumed within two to three weeks.
