Thigh Lift

Sometimes, despite our best efforts with diet and exercise, we can be dissatisfied with the size and shape of our thighs. In other cases, weight loss and aging can contribute to lax and sagging skin on the thighs. A thigh lift procedure can be performed to address these aesthetic concerns by reshaping and contouring the thighs for smoother skin and improved proportions.

How It Works

Incision points will vary according to the areas to be treated and the degree of correction. An incision point at the groin that extends downward and onto the back of the thigh is common; however, should the corrective needs be minimal an incision may only be required at the groin. Once the incision has been made, excess skin is trimmed, liposuction is performed and the underlying tissues are trimmed, tightened and redraped as needed to achieve smooth, firm and lifted skin and refined contours.

Recovery

Dressings and bandages will be applied to the thigh lift incision site and wearing compression garments may be required to support the new contours during healing. It can take several weeks for swelling, bruising and numbness to subside. A return to non-strenuous activities can be anticipated after two weeks of recovery. It can take up to a year for the full results of the thigh lift surgery to be realized as the tissues heal and settle into place. The surgical scars will fade over time.
