Whether you’ve been embracing injectables for years or you’re a newcomer to treatments, the injectable market can feel intimidating. But here’s some great news; we’re here to help you navigate the right treatments to achieve the outcomes you’ve been dreaming about. Our ability to combine injectables and non-surgical treatments gives our patients the ability to non-invasively restore and refresh their appearance for a new beginning. Putting your best face forward begins with a basic understanding of the different treatments we offer––and how they can help you look and feel your best in 2025!
Not ready for surgery? Injectables offer transformation with long-lasting results.
We often find our patients are surprised at just how far injectables can go, and all they’re capable of. If you have concerns about wrinkles, folds, sagging skin, scarring, or even the silhouette of your face, injectables have a wide array of treatment and preventative solutions to make you look and feel your best. For patients who are looking for a dramatic change but aren’t ready for a surgical solution, injectables could be the key to the change you want.
Why choose injectables instead of surgery?
- They’re non-invasive with no downtime or recovery needed
- Injectables last a long time: neuromodulators like Botox® for 3-6 months, and dermal fillers for 6-24 months.
- They can effectively smooth wrinkles and fine lines, fill in depressed areas, and transform the face with natural results that highlight your natural beauty.
- Injectables are less expensive, so some patients start exploring potential results with surgery before they take a bigger step. (Don’t forget we have financing to help support your injectable or surgical goals).
- If you’re looking to target submental fat, injectables can also dissolve fat cells for a smoother jawline.
- Some patients choose injectables if they’re not quite ready for surgery. Injectables allow you to fill in depressed areas or smooth wrinkles without the need for a permanent change.
All this being said, surgical solutions offer an incredible opportunity for a fresh start.
If you’re experiencing extensive facial sagging or wrinkles and seeking permanent results for advanced aging, we may recommend surgical solutions to rejuvenate your appearance. Surgical results can last 10-15 years and do require recovery time until you can enjoy our beautiful results.
What are neuromodulators?
Neuromodulators are a class of injectables that include well known brands like Botox®. As one of the most popular injectable treatments with over 6 million patients every year, it’s known for its consistent ability to smooth wrinkles. Neuromodulators relax the muscles that repeatedly flex, causing wrinkles. By smoothing these areas, neuromodulator injections also preventatively combat future signs of aging.
Neuromodulators like Botox® can be used to treat wrinkles and lines
Neuromodulators are primarily used on the face to smooth wrinkles and lines around the eyes, on the forehead, and between the eyebrows. Think about the muscles on your face that flex when you have a natural expression––like furrowing your brow when you’re thinking or confused. These repetitive movements cause the creases that neuromodulators treat and prevent. Neuromodulators include:
- BOTOX®: often used for lines, creases, and wrinkles. Lasts 3-6 months
- XEOMIN®: a “purer” much stronger form of Botox (meaning the active ingredients work more immediately). Lasts 3-6 months.
- Dysport®: A less expensive neuromodulator with a fast onset (2-3 days). Lasts 3-4 months.
What about biostimulators––what do they do?
Biostimulators act just as their name implies; they work with your body’s biological systems to stimulate collagen production deep beneath the skin––triggering cell turnover and new tissue growth, for results that show up for weeks, or even months, following your injectable treatment. Biostimulator injections include brand names like Radiesse® and Sculptra®.
What are biostimulators made of?
Biostimulators for facial rejuvenation can made up of biostimulatory agents including:
- Platelet-rich plasma (PRP): A concentrated solution of blood platelets mixed with plasma to accelerate the body’s healing properties.
- Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF): Similar to PRP but containing fibrogens, which may help release growth factors more slowly when injected.
- Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA): You may know it as Sculptra®! Designed to improve volume in the skin by accelerating collagen production. Can be used to treat wrinkles, nasolabial folds, thinning lips, abdomen, arms, décolletage, and acne scarring.
- Calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA): Designed to improve firmness and elasticity of skin. Commonly known as Radiesse®, and used to treat the face, hands, and jawline.
What is Platelet-Rich-Plasma (PRP) and how does it work?
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) uses growth-activating plasma from your own blood to stimulate tissue regeneration, healing, and collagen production. During PRP treatment, a specialist withdraws some blood from the targeted area and spins it in a centrifuge to isolate platelet-rich plasma from blood. The platelets are then injected into the skin or scalp where they activate these growth factors. PRP is used on the face to treat dull skin, lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, and more.
Is Juvéderm® a biostimulator?
No, Juvederm is a dermal filler known for long lasting, natural-looking results. We can use it to treat a combination of lips, cheeks, chin, smile lines, undereyes, jawline, and temples. Juvederm contains modified form of Hyaluronic Acid (HA)
In a survey of aesthetic providers with experience using three or more dermal filler brands, the Juvederm® brand was preferred over two times more than other dermal filler brands. Dermal fillers that use HA have been a top choice for patients—over 90% of filler patients receive an HA dermal filler.
HA-based dermal fillers include:
- Juvéderm®: Best for deep wrinkles and volume with a smoother texture. Lasts 6-24 months.
- Restylane®: Best for deep wrinkles and volume but with a firmer texture. Lasts 6-18 months. Part of the NASHA™ filler category.
- Belotero®: Best for fine lines. integrates smoothly and allows for smoother facial expressions and a more natural look. Lasts 6-12 months.
What is Hyaluronic Acid (HA)?
Hyaluronic acid is known for its ability to smooth wrinkles, deeply hydrate, smooth lines, and support the structural framework of the skin. Hyaluronic acid is naturally occurring in your body, especially in the skin, eyes, and joints. As we age, our body’s ability to produce hyaluronic acid declines and dermal fillers can help restore fullness and nourish skin as it’s restored to a more youthful appearance.
