What is Sofwave™?
Sofwave is a non-invasive skin tightening treatment that uses advanced ultrasound technology to stimulate collagen production. As collagen and elastin naturally decline with age, skin can begin to lose firmness and elasticity. How does Sofwave™ work?
Sofwave uses advanced ultrasound technology to precisely heat targeted areas within the mid-dermis, which is the layer of skin responsible for collagen and elastin production.
Using Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam (SUPERB™) technology, Sofwave delivers controlled ultrasound energy at an optimal depth of 1.5mm beneath the skin’s surface. This depth is carefully selected to stimulate collagen production where early laxity and fine lines develop, without damaging the outer layer of the skin. An integrated cooling system protects the skin’s surface throughout the treatment, enhancing comfort while maintaining safety.

What to expect from your Sofwave™ treatment at Oakville Plastic Surgery & Medspa
At Oakville Plastic Surgery & Medspa, every Sofwave treatment begins with a personalized consultation. Your expert provider Michele will assess your skin, discuss your goals, and create a treatment plan tailored to your needs.
During the procedure, the Sofwave handpiece glides smoothly over the skin while delivering ultrasound energy in precise pulses. Most patients describe the sensation as a warm tingling or prickling that is well tolerated.
A full treatment typically takes 30 to 40 minutes, and there is no downtime, which means you can return to your regular routine right away. Some patients may experience mild redness or tenderness following treatment, which typically resolves within a few hours to a day.
Most Our patients achieve noticeable tightening and smoothing after just one treatment, with results continuing to improve for up to six months as new collagen develops. Normally, improvement is seen around 10-12 weeks, with continued enhancement over the following months. Additional sessions may be desired or recommended to further enhance or maintain results.
How long do Sofwave™ results last?
Results from Sofwave can last 12 months or longer, depending on age, skin quality, and lifestyle factors.
Because the treatment stimulates your body’s own collagen production, results develop gradually and age naturally with you. Many patients choose to repeat treatment annually as part of a long-term skin maintenance plan.
